Mobilising finance will be critical to ensure that the UK’s recovery from COVID-19 both accelerates climate action and does this in ways that reduce inequality. Making sure that the recovery responds to the priorities of different places across the country will also be crucial to drive forward ambition and ensure the process is inclusive.

This event will launch the results and recommendations of a new report from the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics. Working with the University of Leeds and in partnership with HSBC and UK Finance, the LSE has undertaken research and dialogue across the country, focusing in particularly at the regional dimensions of the just transition.

This webinar on ‘Funding the transition’ was the third in a series of Net-Zero Research Forums run by the Priestley International Centre for Climate – informal webinars to discuss research and innovation ideas focused on achieving net-zero emissions. The webinar was jointly hosted by PCAN and introduced by Professor Andy Gouldson, Co-Investigator of the Place-based Climate Action Network (PCAN) and Chair of the Leeds Climate Commission.
